What the app does
Ruleo Payment & Shipping Rules ("the app") lets merchants define rules that change the checkout of their Shopify store: payment methods, shipping methods, order validation and discounts.
Data stored in the merchant's store
The rules a merchant creates are stored as app metafields inside the merchant's own Shopify store. They stay under the merchant's control and are removed by Shopify when the app is uninstalled.
Data stored on our servers
To run the app inside the Shopify admin we store a small amount of installation data on our own server: the store's myshopify domain, the access token Shopify issues to the app, the granted permissions and, for signed-in staff, Shopify's numeric user ID and the token's expiry. This data is needed to authenticate requests from the Shopify admin and to call the Shopify API on the merchant's behalf. It is deleted when the app is uninstalled and at the latest when Shopify sends the shop/redact request 48 hours after uninstallation.
The server is hosted by Fly.io, Inc. in Frankfurt, Germany. The hosting provider keeps technical access logs (IP address, time, requested path) for a short period for security and operations.
Checkout data
When a customer checks out, Shopify runs the app's functions inside Shopify's own infrastructure and passes the data needed to evaluate the rules: cart contents, shipping address, customer email and tags, and the time of day. This data is used only to decide whether a rule applies. It is never stored, logged or transmitted by the app, and it never reaches our servers.
Personal data of customers
The app does not collect, store or share personal data of the merchant's customers. If a merchant uses the test mode, the merchant enters one email address of their choice into the rule; it is stored in the merchant's own store only. Because no customer data is stored outside Shopify, a customer data request or redaction request received from Shopify results in no data being returned or deleted.
Cookies and tracking
The app sets no tracking cookies and uses no analytics or advertising services. Shopify may set technical cookies required for the embedded admin.
Third parties
Data is shared only with Shopify (as the platform the app runs on) and Fly.io (as hosting provider). We do not sell data and do not pass it to anyone else.
Merchant data and support
The app has no account system of its own. Support emails are kept only as long as needed to answer the request.
Your rights
You may ask us at any time what data we hold about your store and request its correction or deletion. Uninstalling the app triggers deletion automatically.
